CAJUN STYLE POTATOES SMOTHERED WITH SHRIMP AND SAUSAGE

CAJUN STYLE POTATOES SMOTHERED WITH SHRIMP AND SAUSAGE – I love russet potatoes in this recipe. However, any will do. Skin on or off? Totally up to you. Use the sausage of your choice as well. You always have the option of browning the sausage before adding them into the crockpot. I opted not to. I just add them in first, and add the other ingredients on top. Doing so will allow all the grease and flavor from the sausage to meld with the broth and liquid shrimp and crab boil concentrate. And when you mix it all together in the end….whoa! Yeah. Flavors unite!

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

— 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced

— 2 pounds Russet potatoes, diced into ½ inch pieces

— 1 green bell pepper, diced

— One onion diced

— 1 tbsp minced garlic

— 2 tbsp Cajun OR Creole seasoning

— 1 tbsp Italian seasoning

— 1 tbsp onion powder

— ¼ cup chicken broth

— 1 tbsp of liquid Shrimp and Crab boil liquid, Garlic and Onion flavor

— 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp

RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS:

Spray the crock pot with a non-stick cooking spray. And place the sliced sausage.

Add the potatoes, bell pepper, onion, and garlic

Sprinkle with the seasonings.

Mix the liquid Shrimp and Crab boil liquid with the chicken broth.

Pour that mix into the crock pot.

Cook, covered, on high for 3 hours, 6 hours on low.

The last 20 minutes, add in the shrimp and let cook until shrimp are done.

Garnish with chopped green onion when done.

Sit down and enjoy.
