Homemade Hamburger Peppers And Onion Gyros


1 ½ pounds lean ground beef

Salt and pepper to taste

3 tsp Olive Oil

1 cup chopped green pepper

1 cup chopped red pepper

1 cup onion, chopped

1 can Rotel green chiles with diced tomatoes, your choice Hot or Mild

4 Pita breads, softened and warmed slightly

½ cup sour cream

¼ bleu cheese crumbles

INSTRUCTIONSSlightly warm the Pitas in the microwaveIn a skillet crumble the ground beefAdd in the olive oil, green and red peppers, and the onionCook until meat is no longer pinkContinue until the peppers and the onions have softenedAdd in the can of Rotel and stir to mix in wellSeason with salt and pepper to tasteLayout four sheets of aluminum foilPlace a pita on eachAdd roughly ¼ of the meat mix onto each pitaUsing the aluminum foil, roll up the foil and the gyro togetherTop with the sour cream and bleu cheese if desired.Enjoy!
