SOUTHERN FRIED SHRIMP

SOUTHERN FRIED SHRIMP – Our batter-dipped Southern Fried Shrimp will transport you to the heart of the South! What a dinner it would be if you served it with some creamy tartar sauce and crunchy chips.
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
— 1 1/2cups vegetable oil
— 1 egg
— 1/2cup milk
— 1/2cup flour
— 1 pound (ca. 454 g) large peeled and deveined raw shrimp
— 1/2cup yellow cornmeal
— 1/2teaspoon baking powder
— 1/4teaspoon salt
— 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
RECIPE INSTRUCTIONS:
In a soup pot, heat oil over medium heat until hot.
Meanwhile, in a shallow bowl combine all the ingredients except the shrimp, mix well until smooth.
Dip the shrimp into the batter coating evenly, then drop into hot oil. Fry 2 to 4 minutes or until golden brown, turning once.
