TURNIP HASH BROWNS RECIPE – It’s a delicious low-carb side dish that can be used in place of potatoes. Make them in an air fryer or bake them in the oven; they’re quite tasty and keto-friendly.

TURNIP HASH BROWNS RECIPE

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

— 4 medium turnips (about 2 pounds), peeled and cut into small cubes
— 1 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary or 1/3 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
— 2 tablespoons avocado oil
— 1/2 teaspoon pepper
— 1/2 teaspoon salt
— 1 teaspoon finishing salt

HOW TO MAKE:

IN AN OVEN:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Using parchment paper or foil, line a rimmed baking sheet pan with diced turnips.

Sprinkle the minced rosemary, salt, pepper, and drizzle the avocado oil.

Toss the turnips in the avocado oil and seasonings to evenly cover them. Spread the turnips out evenly on the sheet pan.

Roast the turnips for 35 minutes.

Place them in the pan and turn them on. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit (ca. 232 degree Celsius). Roast until golden brown and tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Allow 10 minutes to rest before serving.

Finish with a pinch of salt. Enjoy!

IN AN AIR FRYER:

Preheat the air fryer to 390 °F (190 °C). Turnips should be peeled and sliced into small cubes. In a bowl, place the cubed turnips.

Toss in the avocado oil, minced rosemary, salt, and pepper to coat.

Spread the cubed turnips in an equal layer in the air fryer basket.

10 minutes in the air fryer Return the basket to the air fryer after a quick shake. 5-10 minutes more in the air fryer, or until turnips are soft and caramelized to your liking.

Finish with a pinch of salt. Enjoy!
