GRANDMA’S PIZZA CASSEROLE

This GRANDMA’S PIZZA CASSEROLE is a cheesy one with all of your favorite pizza toppings. I like to serve this with a salad and garlic bread. The leftovers are great. I have prepared this in advance and then taken it to potlucks in a slow cooker the next day.

I initially found this recipe on a Facebook page the other day and gave it a try tonight. But I excluded the black olives and mushrooms. Furthermore, I did use a pound and a half ground beef and precooked the noodles. Didn’t seem to be a problem doing it that way. Really enjoyed it.

I made this for supper and my family loved it. I used Italian sausage instead of ground beef and angel hair pasta in place of the egg noodles. Likewise, I also used pizza sauce instead of spaghetti sauce. Will definitely make it again.

GRANDMA’S PIZZA CASSEROLE INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

— 1 lb (ca. 454 g). Ground meat.

— 1 16 oz (ca. 605 g). Box bow tie pasta.

— ½ teaspoon oregano.

— ½ teaspoon garlic powder.

— 2 ounces (ca. 76 g) sliced pepperoni.

— ½ teaspoon salt.

— 1 (26 ounce (ca. 983 g)) jar pasta sauce.

— 1 10 oz (ca. 378 g). You can dice Italian style tomatoes.

— ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese.

— 1 (8 ounce (ca. 302 g)) package shredded Italian cheese blend.

— Any other pizza toppings, you can add like black olives, sausage, onions, green peppers.

GRANDMA’S PIZZA CASSEROLE INSTRUCTIONS RECIPE:

Boil water and salt for pasta. Once it starts boiling, add pasta. Brown meat in a separate frying pan. When pasta is cooked, drain.

In a lightly greased 9×13×3 inch pan, pour a small amount of sauce to lightly coat the bottom. Add a layer of pasta and add 1/2 of the sauce, can of tomatoes, garlic powder, and oregano.

On top of pasta, layer the ground meat, then add a layer of pepperonis. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, and Italian cheese. And layer more pepperoni. Top with bacon bits and anything else you like, just like a pizza!

Bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
